Nick Drake is a Nashville, Tennessee native and a graduate of East Literature Magnet High School (now East Nashville High School). He later earned a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from Faulkner University in Montgomery, Alabama, graduating in 2017.
Nick began his journey in community organizing in 2020 as a volunteer with the Black Nashville Assembly. After several years of grassroots organizing and community engagement, he joined the SMC staff in 2024 as a Community Organizer. In July 2025, Nick stepped away from that role to pursue film and creative projects abroad in Africa. Upon returning, he assumed his current position as Member Engagement Coordinator, where he continues to strengthen relationships and build community among members.
Outside of his professional work, Nick is a devoted husband and father of two. He enjoys basketball, music production, and cinematography, and remains an active presence in Nashville’s creative community. Performing under his former stage name, Chuck iNDigo, he was recognized as Nashville Scene’s 2024 Best Rapper.
Nick brings a diverse range of talents, experiences, and creative perspectives to his work. He is deeply passionate about empowering young people, fostering meaningful connections, and helping build stronger communities throughout Nashville and beyond.
